IILT students take part in traditional costume show at Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures.
IILT proudly supported and took part in the traditional costume festival this on Saturday 26th August, as part of the Dun Laoghaire festival of world cultures.
There were 42 different nationalities and cultures represented at the festival and amoung them were three participants from IILT. Ms Razieh Nikoomanesh from Iran modelled a beautiful Iranian hand-crafted ceremonial coat. Mr Ahmed O’Fayumi, representing Sudan, wore a very interesting white traditional costume and Ms Hani Mohammed looked beautiful in her Somalian dress.
All the students had a great day, each of them walked onto a stage while the presenter gave the audience information about them and their costumes. The show was filmed by RTE and models were individually photographed by a professional photographer working for the festival. The organisers arranged a celebratory lunch for all partipants and everyone made many new friends and exchanged telephone numbers with people of all different ages, nationalities and backgrounds from all over Dublin city and county.
Overall it was a fantastic day out for the students and a great success! I would like to thank them all for their participation and enthusiasm.
